Aetherium Nebula is a multimedia project from Dan Barrett (Worms of the Earth, Venal Flesh) focused around a series of interconnected literary works and their soundtracks. The project is focused around two interconnected storylines – that of the planet Ecora Prime (a Gibson-esque cyberpunk dystopia) and that of the Aetherium (an advanced galactic race fleeing from the destruction of their home solar system). The writing is inspired by the darkest and grittiest of 80s cyberpunk + far-future hard sci-fi, and it explores isolation and the struggle to exist & find purpose in a hostile, cybernetic future.
The music exists somewhere at the nexus of Dark Ambient, Drone, IDM, and Industrial.
